Last week, we were lucky enough to stumble upon a kingdom of wooden palettes outside of a factory (in the middle of the night) and helped ourselves to a few. We put it all together with some help from a borrowed drill (shout-out Bill Nelligan), and one more wooden palette we found (and re-purposed) outside of Wesleyan’s wood shop. We’ve already filled it with weeds from the site (mostly invasive and seeding plants), and are looking forward to adding on two more compartments soon using 6 wooden palettes – in the end, we’ll have 3 connected but separate compost bins. Have a look!
Working hard or hardly working, eh Evita?
Watch those fingers!
Wouldn’t want to sit in this throne of weeds!
Have you ever had a crazy experience building your own compost bin? Dish in the comments below!
